More and more are waiting for the next edition of LAMIERA, the international exhibition of metal forming machine tools and related technologies, which will be back in Bologna from the 14th to the 17th of May 2014 to showcase the best products of the sector.

Taking place at the Bolognafiere exhibition quarter, and promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the association of Italian manufacturers of machine tools, robots, and automation systems, the exhibition is organized by CEU-CENTRO ESPOSIZIONI UCIMU.

The stars of LAMIERA 2014 will be: sheet metal forming machines, welding, cutting, and oxy cutting machines, bars, processing machines, tubes, presses, shearing and punching machines, finishing machines, components, accessories.

But there is more. Featured for the first time during the seventeenth edition of LAMIERA will be BLECH ITALY, a themed area dedicated to materials and carpentry, sheets, steel coils, tubes and profiles, semi-finished, and finished products. With BLECH ITALY, LAMIERA provides visitors with the most comprehensive overview of the sector: from materials, to treatments, to processing machinery.

Third world manufacturer of the sector in 2012, with LAMIERA Italy enjoys one of the most renowned international events dedicated to metal forming machine tools, a fact confirmed by the numbers of the latest edition.

In 2012 LAMIERA was attended by 18,000 visitors, mainly from the following sectors: general mechanics (17%), metallurgy (16%), machine tool (11%), building (10%), household appliances (6%), food and packaging (6%).

According to the surveys carried out at the end of the last edition, visitors that crowded the 40,000 square metres of the exhibition to discover the offer of the 451 exhibiting companies (42% of which from abroad), belong to the business areas more strategically connected with the decisional purchasing processes: 20% cover a production position, 18% a top management position, while 15% a commercial role, and 12% work in purchasing. 82% of the visitors interviewed stated that they are involved in the purchasing processes of their companies.

The high profile of visitors (whose names can be found on the site, split by sector) was also and foremost a result of the high presence of qualified and loyal exhibitors, well known as “champions in innovation” due to their capability in ensuring, on an equal cost base, important improvements in the product manufacturing process, and which has enabled the production of the sector to acquire new market shares that in the past were the dominion of other technologies.

To add value to the presence of the operators taking part in the event, alongside the products on exhibition, the organisers will also offer an important program of conferences, as well as Lambda RTDI-IN-FORMING, dedicated to research centres, international universities, start-ups, and networking institutes committed to sustainable innovation.

In support of the internationalisation of the companies taking part in the fair, there will also be several B2B meetings with important foreign operators and end users, including the delegation from the Russian Federation, the country of honour of the 2014 edition, with the objective of facilitating the contact between exhibitors and possible customers.
